After 2 years with RedTail, I'm still disappointed

I've given them two years to fix the items listed above. Nothing has happened to address these issues. You call in to request help and you are told to send in a suggestion to their development team. Good luck with that. Been doing that for two years patiently waiting and I've got nothing to show for it.

Pros:
  • Internet based. I can access my information from anywhere I can access the internet.
    All client emails are linked to the client record.
    Very simple.
Cons:
  • You can only store 5 documents to a client record.

    They provide you with only 3 reports that can be generated to show you your client data. You have no ability to edit the fields used to create the reports.

    You have no ability to create a custom report.

    Their reports will not include any data you input into a customized data field.

    There is no report that mirrors the primary client data screen that you look at every day for any given contact. Wouldn't it be logical to have at least one report that would mirror the primary data screen?

    The data download to your cell phone includes information that most compliance departments would consider confidential and they provide you with no ability to restrict or filter the information that is downloaded. Lose your phone and you may end up providing identity theft protection to your entire client base.

Best For What Type of Firm:
  • A financial advisor who is just starting out. So it won't be difficult to migrate your data to your next CRM.
Final Say:
  • They created a basic product that looks appealing on the surface. But once you really begin to use the product, the limitations are crippling.

We're very happy with Redtail. They constantly are improving their software for the better and I love the fact that it is online as well. We have been able to successfully integrate Redtail with other applications we use in the office too, which is a huge bonus!
